Withington - 17th August 2012
The fifth event of the 2012 season was for the Dave Johnson Trophy, played over 18 holes stableford off full handicap at
Withington Golf Club. There were 30 people out for this event, and despite a
dreadful forecast we only suffered a slight amount of rain early on. We had a
delayed start and with such a large field this meant that the meal was quite
late. Scoring was good and all the winners had very respectable scores.

Overall winner
The overall winner was
Gary Stewart with 38 points. His club handicap is 20 but his reduction
was 3 strokes because of consistent performances in events this year. The result
means that Gary wins this year's winner of the Order Of Merit.

Division 1
The Division 1 split was at 18 and there were two players in contention with
37
points. Peter Walters won with a back nine of 22 points and front nine of 15.
Unfortunately for Ray Dowson his scores were 15 for the back nine and 22 for
the front nine.

Division 2
Vince Murray won the Division 2 Prize with 36 points off a hanicap of 26.

Twos
There were 2 twos at the 8th one for Tim Whitehead and one for Ian Booth.
