Sutton Hall - 13th September 2016

The final qualifying event for the Order of Merit was the Guy Ferguson Trophy played over 18 holes stableford off full handicap at Sutton Hall Golf Club. Ther was a field of 22 including 1 guest. It must be said that we were unfortunate with the weather. Early forecasts had been for a fine day, but the closer we got to the event the worse the weather became. It was reasonably fine to start, but by the time the first group got to the 10th we had the first clap of thunder. It rained quite heavily for a period and then eased up. The second half of the field had to endure a thunderstorm whilst playing the last few holes.

Winners

	Overall winner The overall winner was Norman Jamison with 40 points off a handicap of 11. A magnificent score in the conditions, especially given that he blobbed the last hole.

Division 1
The division split was at 17, and the winner of Division 1 was Tim Spencer with 31 points off a handicap reduced by 3 shots to 15.

Division 2
The winner of Division 2 with 33 points off a reduced handicap of 19 was Andy Benn.

Twos

There were 2 twos at the 6th and 16th, both for Norman Jamison.

Nearest the pin

Mike Budd won the nearest the pin at the 16th.

Order of Merit Winner

Andy Benn maintained the form he has shown all season to win the Order of Merit. Mr Captain thought he was in with a shout until Andy's card came in.
