Wilpshire - 24th August 2023

The sixth event of the 2022 season was for the Guy Ferguson Johnson Trophy, an 18 holes stableford off full handicap at Wilpshire Golf Club. This is a course we have never played before and the comments about the course were generally favourable.The weather remained reasonably good for the competition and scoring was quite modest on a course that was fairly challenging.

Winners

Overall winner
Nigel Ghani with a handicap index of 14.9, and a playing handicap of 14, was the overall winner with 34 points. It was his back nine of 22 points which sealed the win in a card playoff against Brendon. Nigel is a new member of the society and has had quite a successful year with 2 wins to finish second in The Order Of Merit.

Division 1 The division split was at 23, and the winner of Division 1 was Brendon Poynts, with 34 points off a playing handicap of11.		Division 2 Division 2 was won by Lyndon Woods with 33 points, off a handicap index of 27.2 and a playing handicap of 24. With 2 first prizes and 2 divisional prizes Lyndon is the clear winner of this years Order Of Merit.
