Denton - 20th September 2022

 The final event for the season was The Peter MurphyTrophy played over 18 holes stableford off full handicap at Denton Golf Club. This event is open to all permament Fujitsu staff and all Fujitsu/ICL pensioners. This year we welcomed two pensioners to the society : Dave Hodgkinson and Derek Radcliffe. The weather for the event was reasonable and everyone remained dry.

 

Winners

 

Competition winner The overall winner was Brendon Poynts  with 36 points. His handicap index was 11.3, and course handicap 13. Brendon was not eligible for the Peter Murphy Trophy because he was not a Fujitsu/ICL employee. Unfortunately Brendon had to leave before the presentation and was not available for a photo.

Tim Whitehead won the Peter Murphy Trophy, being the highest scoring Fujitsu/ICL employee with 34 points off a playing handicap of 30.

Division 1 Winner		Division 2 Winner
The division split was at 23, and the winner of Division 1 was Gareth Perry with 33 points off a course handicap of 21, handicap index 19.		Tim Whitehead won the Division 2 prize.

Mark Saxon was the Division 1 Runner Up with 33 points off a handicap index 20.7, playing handicap 23.		Chih Hu, with a handicap index of 35.2 and playing indexof 39, was the Division 2 Runner Up.

Nearest the pin at the 13th

Ray Dowson was nearest the pin at the 13th. Unfortunately he could only manage a 3 and there were no twos.

 

Order of Merit and Knockout

 

For once all the competitions had been completed before the final event of the season. Here are the winners of the knockout competitions and the season's order of merit.
