Captain's drive
Mario Capostagno is our new Captain, and there had been a lot of hype for
this one generated by his best mate Andy Millington. Conditions were ideal for
Mario to live up to the billing with a strong wind behind. However the pressure
told slightly, and Mario's ball found the light rough some 192 yards from the
tee. There were 2
winners of the "guess the distance", John Mosedale and George Maddison both guessed 190 yards.

Overall winner
The overall winner was Andy Millington
with 39 points off a reduced handicap of 17. Andy had a 1 point reduction from the
last qualifying event of 2011. Unfortunately for Andy he will carry
this reduction, and a further one for the rest of the season.

Division 1
The division split was at 17, and the winner of Division 1
was Ian Booth with a very respectable 36 points off a handicap of 11.
|
|
Division 2
Division 2 was won by John Mosedale. He also had 36 points off a handicap of 25.
John has been playing with the society for 2 years now.
He finished last at the first event in 2010 at Mottram Hall, and he suffered the
usual disappoint. He certainly left this event on a happier note. Both Division
Winners are no doubt looking forward to having one less shot .

Plate 2011
The plate competition for 2011 was completed too late for
presentation at any of the events for that year. Peter Holmes was the winner.

Twos
There were 2 twos at the 2nd and the 4th. Both were by Mark Saxon, who had scored 14 points on the first 5 holes
- including a blob. He was already writing his acceptance speech, but it was not
to be. |
