Ashton-in-Makerfield - 17th July 2012
The fourth event of the 2012 season was for the Captain's Trophy, played over 18 holes stableford off full handicap at
Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club. This is Mario's course, and also Andy
Millington's. Attendance was terrific again with 33 people taking part, but
unfortunately the weather wasn't kind. Scores were quite low, apart from a
magnificent score from one of the home contingent.

The overall winner was
Andy Millington with 37 points, off a reduced handicap of 13.
This was a terrific score, given that his reduction was 3 strokes. A further
reduction at the next event will make life very difficult for Andy.

Division 1
With the Division 1 split at 17 the winner was Gary Stewart with 33 points
off 16. Gary was playing with a 2 stroke reduction, and his results have been
consistently good this year. He is the current favourite for this year's OOM.

Division 2
Andy Benn won Divison 2 with 29 points off a handicap of 19. There was more than one 29, but with a 18 points on the back nine Andy took the prize.
