Hurlston Hall - 26th July 2016

The 4th event of the season was for the Captain's Trophy which this year was played at Peter's home club Hurslton Hall. The competition was an 18 holes stableford off full handicap. Attendance was very good with 27 players including 3 guests. The weather was quite favourable but a lot people struggled on the difficult course. There were however a few very good scores. Peter had very kindly laid on some refreshments on the 10th tee. There were prizes for the nearest the pin at each of the par threes, and prizes for the longest drive, and the straightest drive at the last.

Winners

Overall winner
The overall winner was Peter Walters with a magnificent 38 points off a reduced handicap of 10. He retained the trophy which he won at Tytherington last year.


Division 1 The division split was at 19, and the winner of Division 1 was Mark Saxon with 33 points off a handicap of 19. He had an impressive back 9 scoring 19 points despite having two blobs		Division 2 Division 2 was won by Andy Benn with 37 points off a reduced handicap of 20. He started well managing 11 points off the first 4 holes. He did however 3 putt the par 3 second.

Nearest the pin. There were prizes for nearest the pin at the 2nd, 7th, 12th and 16th.

Longest drive. The longest drive at the 18th was won by Andy Benn.		Straightest drive. The Straightest drive at the 18th was won by Paul MacDonald.

Twos There was one two by Mr Captain's guest Peter Matthews		Guest Prize The guest with the best score was John Gowland with 36 points.
