Mersey Valley - 9th July 2026
The fourth event (the third being postponed) of the 2026 season was for the
Dave Johnson Trophy, an 18 holes stableford off full handicap at Mersey Valley Golf Club. The weather was very very hot (early 30degrees, with many taking advantage of the available buggies to get some relief).
We had 16 members and 2 guests (including Dave Johnson's son - also called Dave - who help present the trophy).
After the match there was a chance to cool down in the club house and enjoy the Steak Pie/Chips and Stciky Toffee Pudding.
The event was won by Tim Whitehead, with a magnificent score (especially in the conditions) of 41 points

Overall winner
Tim Whitehead was the overall winner with 41 points off a playing handicap off 31.

Division 1
The division split was at 27, and the winner of Division 1
was Nigel Ghani, with 36 points playing off 13.

Division 2 was won by Mike Budd with 32 points off a playing handcap off 36.
