Disley - 25th August 2016
The fifth event of the 2016 season was for the Dave Johnson Trophy played over 18 holes stableford off full handicap at
Disley Golf Club. The field was small again this year. Maybe the holiday season
impacts on the attendance. There were 22 people taking part including 2 guests.
Unfortunately Mario had to leave early in the round because of a back injury so
there were only 19 society members competing for the trophy.
We were unfortunate with the weather, but managed to remain reasonably dry. The
preceding day having been one of wonderful sunshine with very little wind. There
were however a number of very good scores.
The Order of Merit has not yet been decided, and their are still 10 people in
contention.

Overall winner
Andy Millington was the overall winner with 38 points playing offf a reduced handicap of 15. He
pipped Gareth on a card play off, with a magnificent 24 points on the back nine.
That translates to a gross 36 for the last nine holes, or just 1 over par.
Unfortunately Andy had to leave before the meal and the presentation.

Division 1
The division split was at 17, and the winner of Division 1
was Gareth Perry with 38 points off a handicap of 16.

Division 2
Division 2 was won by
Barry Pendlebury with 35 points off a handicap of 22.

There was one two by Andy Millington at the fifteenth. |
